Kusel Castle, also known as Burg Lichtenberg, had its weihnachtsmarkt last week.  It was bitterly cold and damp but we were anxious to show Asher his first castle. 

The castle looks out over a newly snowcovered valley.

The fam had a dinner  and then we explored the grounds.  At one point I heard the cry "Role Play!"  go out. You can guess from whom….  

Then they were off disappearing into passageways and hiding behind and atop the walls, whooping and jumping out and laughin with general wild abandon, until we had to call uncle and take the peep-sicles home to thaw.
