walking through Rome and other miscellany

This is the self-guided tour since it's super late here.  After nearly two months of away from the house activities we are bringing our focus back to home.  We have one child who recently arrived on the continent and another who recently left for a short time.  Homecoming weekend took all our energy for the past week and now we are winding up the fall sports season.  Home stretch!

Home.  It's definition is ever expanding and contracting.   : )

While my energy is there right now I am stealing a few moments to walk through Rome before hitting the hay. Hoping to just keep bringing bits of my random comings and goings to this space as I can for whomever may be out there wandering along.

Such a week.  We have been walking, walking, walking.  Walking the fens, walking the streets of cities large and small.  Staying up way too late watching movies and playing board games. Reading the last of the Christmas library books and eating up the cookies. And taking pictures.  And having heated fantasy football draft sessions.

That's my life this week.  I hope your's is equally full of goofiness and exhaustion.  Will be back to post more pics tomorrow.  Probably.  : )  Meantime a street shot from this afternoon.

Cambridge in Color

I had forgotten about these images still on the phone from our shopping trip to Cambridge earlier this month.  Maybe you'd like to walk along?

We start this leg of the trip strolling through the marketplace late in the day as things were wrapping up.

A shop all red and polka dotted with vintage goodness. I could live here. Might be overstating since my home seems to be making ever greater inroads into Old World golds and wines vs vintage red and turquoise. That doesn't deter me from lingering a good while however!

Market flowers.  Can't get enough. America needs far more vendors with big buckets of blooms.

Jewish Quarter – Prague

Are you tired of Prague yet?  Probably.  You have no idea how many pictures I took.  I used to think I would pursue portraiture once I had a clue how to use my camera, but I have become captivated by street photography both taking it and viewing others' work.

This is a walk through the Jewish Quarter one afternoon.  If you make it to the end there are some of my favorite images (and a short video) of an old gentleman who was performing in the square.  These old European cities have awesome street performers.
