Big Brother cont’d

To answer the question Barb posed, no, this is not the toll road that has been tossed around for some time. This is a multi-state ultility project and as such they do not need permission to exercise eminent domain like a private company does. Apparently the government has right to choose their route and take it forcefully.  From what we hear they only need to compensate us for the actual square feet of dirt they are using so they aren’t required to buy us out. This leaves us with the likely dilemma of not being able to stay and not being able to go, hence the prayer request.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about your present difficulties Kim. Nothing that I can say will help in the slightest, but chin up because you never know when the world’s rarest orchid might be discovered on your land requiring a protection order or something. Well, we can hope and pray can’t we?

  2. Gosh, Kim, I’m just now seeing this. Wow. Wish I could come over with a whole pot of coffee, let you talk through this, cook some meals for you, wash some laundry in those beautiful red machines, and hold that sweet baby for a while. Alas, I’m on the wrong side of the ocean.
But know that I am thinking of you and will pray for you every single day until there is some resolution to this. Try to rest in the knowledge that God really is in control—so much easier said than done, I know. We still need to do all of the work and must endure what comes our way, but ultimately we really don’t need to worry about the outcome—such a waste of precious energy. (I know you know all of this.) It’s sounds like you have the right attitude about it—faith and hope—but still you’ve got to make it through the realities of each day. God bless you. Keep saying those Rosaries!
My very long-winded way of saying…I’m praying for you, dear friend.

  3. Praying. When I thought we were talking of roads I remembered traveling north of Denver to an herb farm, something Rabbit Farms, and how the major road made a nice square around a farmer’s land. But alas, it’s not a road?

  4. Praying that you can stay on your place. We have major powerlines adjoining, a cell phone tower on a nearby hill and an underground gas line running through our orchard so I know it is a real issue .
