Never plan another menu

I am not kidding you.  Just with this one blog entry I may never have to scratch my head over this again.  Should you somehow need more than 175 week at a glance plans, take heart. They apparently do this EVERY MONDAY.  I am so never going to make another food list.

Tell me though.  Am I the only one who puzzles over the 5 days of meals?  Do people fast the other two? Not that this would be a bad idea… Just wondering who shops for 5 days?  Not to worry though. We will cobble two lists per week if need be. Just seems odd.

  1. That is a great question! I’m quilty of only planning for 5 days for several reasons. If something goes array during the week I can simply move the menu to the weekend and that way I don’t waste any of the groceries I bought. The weekends are pretty casual for us so often that is when we’ll have breakfast for dinner or pizza, etc. We also get together with friends on the weekends as well to share a meal. My husband likes to cook too so the weekends is when he’ll pull something together. So yes we still eat on the weekends but I try not be so regimented with those days. Thanks for letting me explain. I’ll probably answer this question again on Monday as I’m sure others are also wondering the same thing!
Have a great week and thanks so much for coming by!!

  2. I was telling Laura leftovers are a rare occurence around a table that seats 11. : ) Anything that escapes the dinner intact ends up as a lunch ingredient the next day. Eating out is usually a special event, either for date night or a child’s birthday so there still needs to be dinner here. So, I will be using one and a half week’s plans at a time which works fine too.
Now if someone posts shopping lists for these menus I will hit meal planning nirvana.

  3. Same here, Kim. Usually if it’s leftover, it’s because nobody liked it the first time around… The menu thing is a bugger for me, too. Thanks for this link!
