Vertically challenged

This is my husband’s idea of a good time. ; ) Actually he is preparing for the Pike’s Peak Marathon which basically entails running straight up the side of the mountain for 13 miles. To do this without dropping dead he is making this climb once a week. This picture is 5miles up. Straight up.

Incline

I have had my own vertical challenges this week. Indoors however. When was the last time you looked your ceiling fan eye to eye? Brace yourself if it has been a while. Ewwwwww is all I can say for the one in my kitchen. I took the globes off and soaked them. Huge improvement. (and they thought we had frosted glass….) I even took a picture in the same spirit with which they plunged the flag in the moon. Because hey, when you do something monumental like run 5 miles up a mountain or attempt a lunar walk or clean your ceiling fan – while it still attached to your ceiling – you want someone to KNOW lol!

  1. Oh, yes. Ceiling fans and overhead light fixtures are the scariest. And the bottom of the cereal cabinet. And underneath the children’s beds. And in the back of the nursery in the barn. (Goodness, I thought I’d list just a couple of these, but naming one leads to another… and another… This is a bad hill I’ve started rolling down!)

  2. Kim – Where was the pic taken? What trail is it? It’s beautiful (although I too, would not be running up it).

  3. LOL on the frosted glass – we have a fixture that I only recently cleaned for the first time since we moved in (I won’t tell you how long ago, LOL) and I really did think it was frosted (because it looked that way from the time we moved in!) It wasn’t.
    Looks great now!
WTG on cleaning your ceiling fixtures!

  4. LOL…I haven’t gotten up that high in the cleaning department…YET ;o) The floor is scarier these days because it is harder to reach!
I do take the globes and run them through the dishwasher…much easier on the yuck factor and it does cut the grease that accumulates on the kitchen fan…
Kudos to dh on his challenge!
    That is amazing!
oh my! I can’t imagine doing that in my state of mommyhood, but I bet it is a rewarding challenge in the end! I think you and I doing our own vertical challenge just getting out of bed in the morning IMHO…;o)
