a little note

A-little-note-web

….to say I am still here, but not.  Our Asher arrived last Saturday.  We have been laughing and driving and shopping and eating pretty much non-stop since then.

Monday we had a photo shoot for a beautiful baby girl.  Husband rode along to be prop boy since he was off and we made a day of it wandering downtown. Taking more pictures of course.

Yesterday we took a road trip to IKEA and the very nice Mobel Martin store because things were verging on country-with-a-K on the main floor after my attempt at dining room valances and it just wasn't working. A few tweaks later and I think we have settled on a Christmas theme.  I am sure you are terribly relieved for me. <g>

Maybe you would sympathize more with the kids who spent half an hour working out their order at McDonald's… Wow. No English speaking staff and their German didn't cut the mustard apparently. Then, once they did understand the order there was the fact that our German friends have not embraced the "fast" in fast food. They take the order, make the food, deliver it to the customer, all very civilized and orderly like. (I would add probably like we are supposed to eat… )   THEN they greet the next customer and start all over.  Mine were not prepared for that.  The adventures lol.

In between were some bothersome medical tests, because hey, this isn't heaven.  We can always use a reminder and this is the thorn in the side that often does just that. His grace is sufficient though this sort of thing distracts a person, you know?

So that is where I have been.  The pictures are piling up, there is much to show and tell.  Just hasn't been any time. And I need to skedaddle again.  But I will be back.  Even if in snippets.  I hope my American friends are enjoying a marvelous holiday weekend. I look forward to hearing what is happening in your world.

Drop a little note. : )

  1. Good to hear from you. I hope your son will be around for a bit; the rosary should be in the mail Monday. If he will not be there for a week or so, send me his next address!
Poor kids…they just want some chicken nuggets! 😉
I hope the medical tests all turn out fine.

  2. A little note:
    1. I totally understand about country with a K. We can’t have that.
    2. However, I am jealous that you move all the way to Germany and still have an IKEA and I have yet to live near enough to one to shop there.
    3. The McDonalds thing cracked me up.
    4. We are moving to Santa Fe tomorrow. It’ll take us about a week to get there. Perhaps there will be an IKEA there. If not, I reserve the right to remain jealous.

  3. I totally give you the IKEA envy. I had it for years and will only make it worse telling you that for me it IS all that. ; D We got the littles set up for Christmas there with their Swedish toys. Yay!
However, Santa Fe is an all-time fave place of mine. Seriously. Mary Emmerling’s Santa Fe house was the very best she has done imo. Am having Santa Fe style pangs right now just remembering. Santos and wool rugs and silver – oh my!

  4. Deal! But girl you’re gonna feel bad for me when you see my vintage Alaska souvenir plate. I have been collecting old state plates from all the places we had been. I got Alaska because it had a reeeeaallly nice aqua rim lol and I justified it by saying we would go visit Theresa to make it legit. Now see? ; )

  5. I’ve been loving hearing about your adventures. The pictures are so beautiful.
I came on here to just say “hi” and find out that Theresa is moving to Santa Fe. What great adventures they have.
I am not moving anytime soon even though we still have a couple more years left before retirement. And now, I must get back to my sewing costumes for our Nutcracker performances.

  6. Oh sweetie! What adventures! Missed our phone conversations. All is well here. Sometimes I’m shoveling while it snows. Sometimes I’m bailing water out of a sinking boat. It all depends on my mood. grinz Just wanted to say I miss you and I regret I couldn’t make time to talk to you when I just had the baby. hugs
