Someone had made an offhand comment several weeks ago that soon the plowed fields, which covered the hills with new green growth, would turn yellow. And in a short time the countryside was a yellow patchwork of rapeseed blossoms.
Gorgeous! Here the fields tend more toward tobacco and cotton plants. Not quite the same colorful effect, though the waving fields of cotton balls have their own charm in the fall :-).
Beautiful!!! Those flowers are one of our first signs of spring over here, but I don’t remember seeing them in the US (southeast). I have definitely become more observant about flowers with age, though, so that’s not saying much. The name is much prettier in Japanese – nanohana. :o)
