At the Cabin

I had to laugh when my son commented on Facebook that a visit to our house typically includes your involvement in a play, a concert, or a photo shoot.  This is actually true, particularly if you are a guest of one of our middle kids.  You may well find yourself swept away into a throwback fantasy world – at least for a little while. It's all good fun.

If you visit, dress warmly.

We may end up hiking over to the cabin at the pond…

  1. What wonderfully patient girls! My daughter hates having her photo taken. Well, she is twelve and a half. But still. It makes me sad, because I want to remember these years …

  2. Be very, very still (no camera shake), use a fast shutter speed, and get very savvy about natural light – ie, where is it coming from and where best to position your subject so they have those catchlights. How fast your shutter speed can be, of course, depends on your lens and the amount of light available on a given day. Lots more reading than shooting in this case. Who knew photography was going to end up being about math???

  3. Ellie they are taking over for Abbie Rose who does NOT think this is fun right now. ; D Actually the big kids DO though and love to set up shoots. I am so pleased that these big girls would rather hang out together doing this than a LOT of things they could be doing.
