That is how best to sum up this week. The children have been laid low for the first time in a year now. They had a half dozen performances last weekend. I was a little concerned by all the reports we got about a significant illness 'going around'. By Sunday afternoon the first kids' dropped and fevers rose. What followed was movies, medicine, and a lot of naps and cuddles. Lots of naps and cuddles. Which might just be the best medicine.

Call me crazy, but I’ve come to seriously enjoy moments of illness! Just as long as the asthma boy stays out of hospital, I’m perfectly content to sit and watch Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, Bonanza, Gunsmoke and the like for hours and days on end. A bit of respite among days of chaos and travel….makes me nostalgic for when they were all small, there was no “free” phone calls past 10 miles away, no TV cable service, no internet, no smart phone, nor even email! Hope your little people are well soon! Gosh, I just read my note, I sound like I’m from the dark ages, amazing how fast things have changed in the 20 years since I’ve been Mom.
