O’er all the pleasant land

"The stately Homes of England,

How beautiful they stand!

Amidst their tall ancestral trees,

O'er all the pleasant land."

I do so love houses. They fascinate me as the keepers of untold stories. This one made me pull over and hang out of my car window in the rain.

  1. Beautiful! I cannot imagine actually living in such a grand thing. I’d think I was a character in a novel full of romance and intrigue. And then I’d be forced to eat nothing but crumpets and drink tea with my pinky sticking out.

  2. It wouldn’t be long though, before you realized how cold you were and how far you had to walk and climb to find a restroom. Such is the reality of very old English buildings GORGEOUS indeed. They are a little less user friendly than newer vintage, for sure!
